My interest in anesthesiology began during my second year of medical school when one of my pharmacology professors, who also happened to be an anesthesiologist, said, "If you like physiology and pharmacology, you may want to consider anesthesiology."  His advice turned out to be good advice for me.

A former resident at UMass, I am very happy to be back as a faculty member after having travelled to Wisconsin for a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology.  I received excellent training at UMass and formed close relationships with the faculty.  I frequently refer to them as my "second family," and it is a joy to be back working with them.

I am also particularly excited to be part of our growing group of pediatric anesthesiologists. Thanks to several excellent mentors, I found early in my residency that I very much enjoyed working with pediatric patients.  I feel privileged to be able to combine this interest with my interest in teaching.  My hope is that I may, in turn, help some of our residents find that they too enjoy working with these patients.
