Cytoskeletal alterations during normal aging process

Altering physician behavior towards more appropriate use of clinical laboratory services

My involvement in cytoskeletal alterations which occur during the normal aging process remains a major Michael Snyder focus for my research career. However, since arriving on the scene at UMASS, I have also become interested in mechanisms to alter physician behavior with a final result of more appropriate utilization of clinical laboratory services.

Clinical:

Application of Quality Management in Hospital Laboratories
Appropriateness of Laboratory Testing and Cost Efficiency

Research:

Red cell defects, red cell metabolism, membrane function and how they relate in normal and abnormal conditions and how it effects membrane function. Secondary area would be monocytes and red cells in normal and hemolytic disease.
