Biography:

Dr. Anatchkova’s interests are in assessment of patient reported outcomes, computerized adaptive testing and health related behavior interventions. Currently Dr. Anatchkova is working on a project funded through a NIH/NIA K01 career development award focusing on the development of an item bank assessing the impact of health status on role functioning across the lifespan. This work builds upon her experience as a research scientist at QualityMetric Inc., where she has participated in a number of federally funded small business development  grants and various externally funded consulting projects in the area of patient reported outcomes measurement. She has been actively involved in the work on development and feasibility testing of recent computerized adaptive tests for asthma, chronic pain, patients with heart failure, depression, HIV and chronic kidney disease among others. The quality of her work in this area has been recognized by the International Society of Quality of Life Research, which distinguished her as a New Investigator Award finalist for two consecutive years (2007, 2008). In addition Dr. Anatchkova  has experience in all aspect of the development, implementation and analyses of results of health behavior intervention and prevention programs in the areas of smoking, diet, exercise, alcohol consumption and HIV prevention, gained during her years at the Cancer Prevention Research Center at the University of Rhode Island. Dr. Anatchkova’s work has been recognized by the Society of Behavioral Medicine (Meritorious Paper award and Early Career Award, 2004). She is also the recipient of two dissertation awards (Jacobs Foundation Award, 2002 and Peter F. Merenda Dissertation Award, 2004).
