Dr. Faro is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Health Informatics and Implementation Science in the Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences. She is trained as a behavioral and implementation science researcher, with an emphasis on physical activity, diet and smoking cessation. Her doctoral work focused on using mHealth approaches to increase physical activity and weight management interventions in at-risk populations. Her T32 NCI-funded fellowship focused on increasing physical activity in cancer survivors through working with the clinical system to partner with local community-based programs. Her current research incorporates novel mHealth approaches, including wearable activity monitors, collective intelligence tailored text messaging and clinic electronic referral systems to increase cancer survivors physical activity levels.
