She came with 14 years of faculty experience at the University of Vermont where she was integral in the education of nurse practitioner students. She completed a Fellowship in the Program for Research in Medical Outcomes at the University of Vermont College of Medicine and continues her efforts at understanding health literacy and its relationship to health and health behaviors and outcomes. In addition to her appointment at UMASS Medical School she holds an appointment as an external faculty nurse scientist at the Yvonne L. Munn Center for Nursing Research at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Clinically Nancy works as an adult nurse practitioner in the UMMH Diabetes Center of Excellence and the UMMH Geriatric Medicine Clinic.
