Dr. Li is Adjunct Professor of Medicine and Senior Biostatistician within the Division of Clinical Informatics, Department of Medicine. He investigates the patterns and mechanisms of geographic and sociodemographic disparities in health, health behaviors and human-neighborhood environment interactions. His lab conducts research on healthy aging, community influences on health and health behaviors, physical activity, nutrition, obesity, infectious diseases, pain, total joint replacement, substance misuse and abuse, outcomes research, and evaluation of public health programs and policies. His lab also provides biostatistical, GIS and data science support to EHR-based surveillance systems, clinical registries, observational cohort and RCT studies.

Rotation Projects

Longitudinal data analysis: This rotation provides students with opportunities to learn basic concepts and skills in statistical analysis of observational cohorts, clinical registries, electronic health records, and hospital administrative data. Students are expected to conduct literature review, participate weekly lab meetings, and work on a small analytic project on a topic of own choice. At the end of rotation, students are expected to complete a brief manuscript/report and a poster presenation.
