We are looking for students interested in designing and applying new computational methods to genomic datasets, with the goal of translating basic genomics into improved medical care. Our current projects include:
developing improved methods to combine GWAS and natural selection to pinpoint functional genomic variation
identifying and functionally investigating genes associated with cholera resistance in Bangladesh
investigating shared and divergent patterns of natural selection in Bangladesh, India and East Asia
combining genetic and RNA expression data to understand immune response to cholera and other intestinal diseases
We are also starting a new project on behavioral genetics in mixed breed dogs.
