Dr. Faro is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Health Informatics and Implementation Science in the Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences. She is trained as a behavioral and implementation science researcher, with an emphasis on physical activity, diet and smoking cessation. Her doctoral work focused on using mHealth approaches to increase physical activity and weight management interventions in at-risk populations. Her T32 NCI-funded fellowship focused on increasing physical activity in cancer survivors through working with the clinical system to partner with local community-based programs. Her current NHLBI-funded K01 incorporates patient decision aids and clinic electronic referral systems to increase cancer survivors participation in physical activity programs of their choice, including digital health, community-based and virtual programs. Dr. Faro has completed a wealth of training in Implementation Science, inclusing participation in the Washington University Implementation Science Scholars (IS-2) program. She co-developed an taught "Introduction to Dissemination and Implementation Science in Healthcare and Community Settings." She has also done extensive work in partnership with the UMass Cancer Center, in addition to serving on the Massachusetts Comprehensive Cancer Coalition Leadership Board and serving as co-chair of their Survivorship Health Equity Task Committee.
