I am a proud graduate of the University of Massachusetts Medical School, class of 1984. Prior to that, I received my B.S. in biology from Stonehill College, North Easton, MA, class of 1979.
After completing my PGY-2 year as a surgical resident at the Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA, I entered the anesthesiology residency program of the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, graduating in 1990. I then joined the faculty of the anesthesiology department as an assistant professor, with a subspecialty interest in cardiac anesthesia.
In addition to my role as residency program director, I am also associate clinical director of operative services, as well as anesthesiology course coordinator for UMass' medical school students and clinical site coordinator for EMT-paramedic students and life flight personnel airway management rotations.
I am an active member of the UMass Medical School admissions committee, as well as the faculty advisory and education and residency committees of the Department of Anesthesiology. I also participate in the Medical Student Advisory Program and the UMass Office of Outreach Programs.
