People here say I am a "lifer." I have been here forover thirtyyears and still find something new to do each year! When I came here in 1978 I became involved in medical student education and started the electives for the 3rd year and 4th year medical students. A year later I built up the residency program which I directed for 17 years.
I hung up that hat eight years ago and found another one! I am currently involved in medical student administration as the Assistant Dean in the Office of Student Affairs/Minority Support. The other administrative activities that have been most important to me include the Affirmative Action Committee and the Admissions Committee for the medical school.
I continue to be active in clinical anesthesia. I particularly enjoy pediatric anesthesia. After many years of doing trauma cases in the OR at the UMass University campus, I have a new perspective of anesthetic cases in Day Surgery at the Hahnemann campus. I enjoy the challenge of doing a variety of regional techniques, and teaching students and residents in a different environment.
