Overview
Dr. Zai is the Chief Research Informatics Officer at UMass Chan Medical School and an Associate Professor in the Health Informatics and Implementation Science Division. As a researcher and thought leader in his field, Dr. Zai has made significant contributions to healthcare informatics and population health management.
In his capacity as CRIO, Dr. Zai directs the Research Informatics Core, which caters to all clinical data and data science needs for research at UMass Chan. He is also responsible for overseeing the institution's strategic direction of research informatics infrastructure.
Dr. Zai's academic research focuses on developing and implementing population-based informatics initiatives. His work employs decision support systems, artificial intelligence, and implementation science to optimize the management of patient populations. Through his innovative research, Dr. Zai aims to enhance patient care and outcomes by harnessing the power of technology and data-driven solutions.
