Overview
The development and maturation of the brain is dependent on neuronal activity. The human brain continues to mature over 20-30 years, meaning sensory input continuously shapes neural circuit architecture over decades. Using human stem cells, rodent, and non-human primate tissue, the Boulting Laboratory investigates human neuronal activity-dependent gene dynamics evolved in the primate brain.
1- Determinants of human neuronal transcriptional specification
2- Neuronal activity-dependent transcription of the primate brain
3- OSTN function in developing human cortical neurons
