Overview
As a forensic psychiatrist, I provide clinical care to patients admitted to the state mental health hospital from the courts. I also conduct forensic evaluations - court-mandated and privately.
Additionally, I am involved in the forensic psychiatry fellowship at UMass and supervise UMass psychiatry residents and medical students on the forensic evaluation unit rotation.
My interests in psychiatry include psychotic disorders (especially first episode psychosis) and cultural psychiatry. Within forensic psychiatry - where my ongoing projects are focused - my intersts are about Pregnancy Denial and Neonaticide, working with interpreters in forensic mental health evaluators and the history of forensic psychiatry.
