Becoming an anesthesiologist was an easy decision for me. I wanted to follow in my father's footsteps, who is currently practicing anesthesia. Coming to UMass was an excellent decision because I believe I received excellent training at this institution. After completing a surgical internship, I went on to complete an anesthesia residency and a critical care fellowship.

My main reason for remaining on staff at UMass was the faculty. I felt like I belonged to a family.
I developed good friendships with the faculty during my residency and fellowship. I knew I could rely on any one of them if I needed them in the operating room as well as outside the hospital. I also enjoy working daily with the residents by teaching them anesthesia and critical care medicine.

My clinical interests include regional anesthesia, difficult airway management, management of sepsis and septic shock, and catheter-related blood stream infections. I enjoy doing a variety of different cases in the operating room from orthopedics to vascular surgery. I am involved in studies looking at catheter-related blood stream infections.

Outside the operating room, I enjoy playing golf and spending time with my family and friends. Going to medical school in the Philippines, I realized the importance of having your family and friends close by.
